Azerbaijan’s leader district on tea-growing published

October 1, Fineko/abc.az. Tea-growing is one of the traditional and profitable branches of agriculture in Astara district. The development of this sphere in the district is set as a priority issue.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Astara District Statistical Department that about 26.4% of tea plantations in Azerbaijan and 60% of tea production account for Astara district.

Currently, there is an area of 272.5 hectares of tea in the district.

As of 1 October 699.2 tons were collected in Astara (148.7 tons or 27% more against Jan-Sept 2020).

The yield increased by 11 quintals up to 51 quintals.
