October 11, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan has called on citizens from risk groups, people with chronic diseases, all medical workers and the population over 50 years old who received both doses of the vaccine to be vaccinated with the third dose (booster dose).

ABC.AZ reports that according to the Ministry, the presence of a more contagious strain of DELTA coronavirus on the agenda makes it necessary to fight the virus more seriously.

In addition, seasonal weather changes also increase the risk of a wider spread of the epidemic.

On the other hand, studies have shown that the effect of vaccines used against coronavirus decreases after a certain time. There is a need to inject the 3rd (booster) dose to increase immunity to the disease. In Turkey, China, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Hungary, Russia, Spain, Switzerland the process of injecting the 3rd, enhanced dose of the vaccine, has already started.
