Azerbaijan starts receiving orders for cargo transshipment from new terminal, built in Iranian Astara

April 12, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) has already started receiving orders for a new cargo terminal constructed on the territory of Iran's Astara.

ADY chair Javid Gurbanov has stated that they have already received more than 200 orders.

"The terminals will transship various cargoes, including oil. Goods from these terminals will be delivered not only to the domestic market of Iran, but also to the markets of Syria and Iraq. Now mainly timber is transported, and in the future transportation of fruits from Iran to Russia will become possible. Besides, work on supply of goods to the Ukrainian market will also be fulfilled," Gurbanov said.
