Azerbaijan's budget surplus reached AZN 154.9 million in 1st quarter

April 12, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Mar Azerbaijan's State Budget surplus amounted to AZN 154.9 million.

The Ministry of Finance informs that for the reported period budget revenues amounted to AZN 4.56 bn and expenditures AZN 4.408 bn and as a result, a surplus of AZN 154.9 million formed.

"The budget revenues was met by AZN 4.56 bn versus forecast of AZN 4.428 bn that is by AZN 134.4 million or 3% more than for the same term of 2017. The Taxes Ministry transferred AZN 1.436 bn or by AZN 15.8 million (1.1%) more to the budget and the State Customs Committee - AZN 726.9 million or by AZN 155.8 million (27.3%) more for Jan-Mar 2018 against the same term of 2017. Country’s budget revenues from paid services to state-run enterprises totaled AZN 79.3 million. The State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) transferred AZN 2.299 bn," the Finance Ministry reported.

According to the MoF, the State Budget expenditure part was implemented for Jan-Mar by AZN 4.408 bn or 108.8%. Budget social expenditures amounted to 40% of all expenditures or AZN 1.76 bn that is by AZN 125.6 million or 7.7% more than for the 2017 same term. The State Budget directed AZN 2.255 bn for current expenditures, AZN 1.627 bn for main expenditures and 10.9% on costs for servicing governmental obligations and debts.

Consolidated budget revenues for the first 3 months amounted to AZN 7.06 bn that is by AZN 1.4 million (25%) more than for Jan-Mar 2017 and expenditures totaled AZN 4.757 bn or AZN 1994.8 million (29.5%) less than last year. Thus, a surplus of the consolidated budget formed at the level of AZN 2.304 bn.
