Global giant companies to invest in electric vehicles

November 10, Fineko/abc.az. The world's leading automakers plan to spend $515 bn on electric vehicles and batteries by 2030.

ABC.AZ reports that these funds will be spent on achieving the goals of strict decarbonization, defined by various countries, and on the transition to the production of cars exclusively on electric traction.

Three years ago such investments were estimated at the level of $300 bn. 
German automobile concern Volkswagen, the leader in this field, intends to spend about $110 bn on electric vehicles and batteries in the next decade. The total expenses of German companies, including Daimler and BMW, in this area will amount to $185 bn by 2030. American giants General Motors and Ford Motor plan to spend about $60 bn by 2025 on the development and production of electric vehicles. Chinese car companies, with the help of their partners from Europe and America, will invest up to $100 bn in electric vehicles in the next decade. And Japan’s Honda, Toyota Motor and Nissan intend to spend $40 bn in this area.
