November 15, Fineko/abc.az. “At one time, many indicators related to healthcare in Azerbaijan were low. From this angle, reforms are needed, the introduction of compulsory medical insurance has begun in the country." ABC.AZ reports that Araz Nasirov, the head of the Strategic Analysis Department of the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance, stated about this at the 25th International Business Forum in Baku. "Compulsory medical insurance has been applied in Azerbaijan for 2 years. Currently, 60% of healthcare workers in the country are in Baku, that is, there is shortage of workers in the districts of the country. In addition, despite the fact that a significant number of new hospital buildings have been built in the capital and the districts, there are still hospitals whose condition is not satisfactory. Dozens of hospitals are to be demolished and rebuilt. Primary medical institutions are also not in the best condition. Our country has no problems with finances, it has problems with time. In order to implement all this in a short time, the forces of the state are not enough. From this angle, we believe that the partnership of the state and the private sector can support us in this direction," he emphasized.
