November 16, Fineko/abc.az. Units of the Armenian armed forces committed a large-scale provocation against our country on the Kelbajar and Lachin sections of the state border.
ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs that on 16 November, at about 11:00, Armenian units launched a sudden military operation with the aim of capturing heights in this direction of the state border and occupying more advantageous positions to achieve military superiority. Having concentrated additional manpower, military and special equipment at the border combat positions in Basarkechyar district and Garakils, Armenian military units attacked the combat posts of the Azerbaijani Army in Kalbajar and Lachin districts.
The enemy subjected the positions of the Azerbaijani Army to intense shelling from various-caliber small arms and grenade launchers, causing damage to our combat posts. As a result, according to preliminary data, two servicemen of the Azerbaijani Army were injured. The wounded were immediately provided with first aid. Currently, their lives are not in danger.
In order to suppress the combat activity of the Armenian armed forces, an immediate military operation was carried out by units and forces stationed in the Kalbajar and Lachin directions. At first, the movement of the enemy was limited, damage was done to his forces and means. As a result of the decisive measures taken, Armenian servicemen were disarmed and detained, a large number of different-caliber weapons and ammunition were seized as trophies.
