Labor Minister's forecast: Minimum pension to increase from next year

December 3, Fineko/abc.az. The next package of social reforms has been prepared as a new stage, ABC.AZ reports citing Minister of Labor & Social Protection Sahil Babayev.

He noted that within the framework of this package, from the beginning of 2022, there will be an increase in the minimum pension, as well as benefits.

"In 2018-21 the minimum pension growth made up 82%, the average was 60%. On average, benefits have doubled. In general, as part of the next package of social reforms, pensions, benefits, wages, social assistance will increase from the new year," Babayev said.

According to the minister, the increases will cover more than 2 million people, and as a result of indexation, pensions of more than 1.1 million pensioners will also increase from next year.
