April 19, Fineko/abc.az. For Jan-Mar 2018 the insurance premiums of Azerbaijani insurance companies amounted to AZN 193.1 million and compensation payments were paid for AZN 60.3 million.

The Financial Market Supervision Chamber informs that premiums on voluntary insurance totaled AZN 157.1 million and paid compensations AZN 44.4 million, while premiums on compulsory insurance reached AZN 36 million and compensations AZN 15.9 million.

The share of premiums on voluntary insurance in the total volume of insurance premiums made up 81% and on compulsory insurance 19%.

Compensations on voluntary insurance made up 74% and on compulsory insurance 26% of total payments.

Azerbaijan is numbering 21 insurance companies.
