Azerbaijan has taken part in OSJD Railway General Directors Conference

April 20, Fineko/abc.az. The 33rd meeting of the Railway General Directors Conference of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSJD) was held in Vietnam (Danang city) from 16 to 20 April.

Azerbaijani Railways (ADY) reports that they were represented in the event by a delegation led Legal Department’s head Nijat Guliyev.

"As part of the agenda, the conference participants covered the results of work of the OSJD commissions on freight and on passenger transportation, infrastructure and rolling stock, and work of the OSJD Committee’s standing workgroups for 2017. The conference was also provided with information on the progress of mutual settlements and mechanism of repayment of debts between railway companies, and on the progress of the international conference on the adoption of the text of the Draft Convention on direct international rail services," ADY said in a statement.

The question of South Korea’s membership in OSJD has been considered as well. In addition, the conference heard out the budget for the current and future years, the OSJD activity report 2017, the OSJD work program for 2019 and subsequent years. Distribution of leading positions in the OSJD Committee, chairmen and experts in the working bodies of OSJD was carried out.

The preliminary agenda and the venue of 34th OSJD meeting to be held in South Korea from 8 to 12 April 2019 have been endorsed as well. The relevant protocol was signed following the results of the plenary session.
