Oil rises in cost, and Brent is at $74.53 a barrel

December 16, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of standard grades are increasing in Thursday’s trading amid the data about decline in stocks in the U.S.

By 9:40 am, at the London ICE Futures Exchange the February’s Brent crude futures rose by $0.64 (0.88%) up to $74.53 per barrel. Following the trading on 15 December, the price of Brent crude futures for February grew by $0.18 (0.24%) up to $73.88 per barrel.

By 9:40 am, at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) the WTI oil futures for January increased in price by $0.77 (1.09%) up to $71.64 per barrel. Following the trading on 15 December, the price of January’s WTI oil futures grew by $0.14 (0.2%) up to $70.87 per barrel.

According to US Department of Energy’s weekly report, country’s commercial oil reserves declined by 4.58 million barrels last week to 428.29 million barrels, gasoline inventories by 719,000 barrels to 218.58 million barrels, and commercial distillate stocks by 2.85 million barrels to 123.76 million barrels.
