Oil falls in price, and Brent is at $71.36 a barrel

December 20, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of standard grades keep on declining in Monday’s trading after fall at the end of last week amid the growing fears of the spread of a new strain of Covid-19 ‘omicron’.

By 9:35 am, at the London ICE Futures Exchange the February’s Brent crude futures fell by $2.16 (2.94%) to $71.36 per barrel. Following the trading on 17 December, the price of Brent crude futures for February decreased by $1.50 (2%) to $73.52 per barrel.

By 9:35 am, at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) the WTI oil futures for January declined in price by $2.36 (3.33%) to $68.50 per barrel. Following the trading on 17 December, the price of January’s WTI oil futures fell by $1.52 (2.1%) to $70.86 per barrel.

Over the past week Brent fell by 2.2% and WTI by 1.1%.
