December 21, Fineko/abc.az. Education Minister Emin Amrullayev has conducted a briefing and clarified some issues.

ABC.AZ reports that the minister stressed that preschool educational institutions (kindergartens) play an important role in improving the quality of education.

According to Amrullayev, serious progress has been made in this area in Azerbaijan in recent years.

"Important work has been done to increase coverage. If a parent considers a kindergarten as a place where he can leave his child while he is at work, then speech about education here is out of the question. There are 1,825 kindergartens in the country, and 1,692 ones of them are state-run. More than 126,000 children are brought up in them. There are 133 private kindergartens with 5,124 children. At the beginning of the year 17,218 people were employed," Amrullayev said.
