December 27, Fineko/abc.az. The movement of trains has begun on the reconstructed section of the Sumgait-Yalama railway, an important part of international transport corridor North-South.

ABC.AZ reports that on the two-lane road Sumgait-Yalama the reconstruction is carried out in parallel with transportation.

While one line of the road is being reconstructed, trains are moving along the other.

Along with the existing branch line in the direction of Shabran-Charkhi, a new line has also been commissioned on the Sumgait-Yalama railway. As part of the project, 23 km of the railway were reconstructed and opened to traffic.

The Sumgait-Yalama railway reconstruction project is being implemented on the basis of joint financing within the framework of the Railway Sector Development Program in accordance with the loan agreements between the Azerbaijani Government and the Asian Development Bank dated December 19, 2017 and between the Azerbaijani Government and the French Development Agency dated March 11, 2019.
