SOCAR about gas carriages from Turkmenistan

January 5, Fineko/abc.az. According to the agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, gas intended for transportation to our country has been carried to the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic since the beginning of the year.

ABC.AZ reports citing Ibrahim Akhmedov, deputy head of the Department for Public Relations & Event Organization of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

According to Akhmedov, since the beginning of the year the gas that is supposed to be transported to our country under this agreement has already been supplied to Azerbaijan: "Gas is carried to the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic."

Akhmedov noted that the remaining volume of gas supplied will be transferred near Astara: "Together with the delegation from Iran, technical preparatory work is underway on the occasion. In accordance with this agreement, more than 4 million cu m of natural gas are expected to be delivered to Azerbaijan daily (in both directions)."
