Oil and gas demand to exceed pre-pandemic levels

11:33 - 7.01.2022

January 7, Fineko/abc.az. The recovery in demand for oil and gas will continue in 2022, and will exceed pre-pandemic levels by the end of the year, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the forecast of Moody's Investors Service.

The document says that however, relatively strong fuel demand poses an obstacle to decarbonization efforts that are now slowly taking shape amid investor demands and government pledges.

According to OPEC’s estimates, the average daily global demand for oil amounted to 99.97 million barrels in 2019 and 90.98 million barrels in 2020.

The OPEC forecast says that this indicator will be 96.63 million barrels and 100.79 million barrels in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
