Azerbaijan carried 167.5 million tons of cargo since early 2017

Over Jan-Sept of the year Azerbaijan transported 167.5 million tons of cargo and 1.437 bn passengers.

The State Statistics Committee informs that compared to the same term of 2016, volume of cargo transportation grew by 1.8% and passengers by 2.2%.

"63.9% of cargo was transported by motor road, 26.1% via pipelines, 6.3% by rail, 3.6% by sea and 0.1% by air,” the Committee reported.

88.1% of passengers were carried by road, 11.6% by the underground, and the remaining by sea and air types of transport.
