Forecast: Cathay Pacific expects a loss of over $700 million

In 2020, Cathay Pacific's losses amounted to $2.79 billion. This was a record high in the history of the air carrier.

Last year, the airline carried only 717,000 passengers, compared with 4.6 million in 2020 and 35.2 million in 2019. At that, demand for cargo transportation remained high: Cathay Pacific's annual cargo turnover totaled 1.3 million tons.
