Dollarization of Azerbaijani population’s bank deposits has decreased

January 24, Fineko/abc.az. In 2021, population’s bank deposits in foreign currency decreased by 8.7% to AZN 3.789 bn or 41% of all deposits of the population (by the end of 2020, the share of deposits in foreign currency made up 50.8%).

ABC.AZ reports that residents’ bank deposits total AZN 8.94 bn and non-residents’ deposits AZN 301.4 million.

In 2021, the volume of residents’ deposits grew by 13.2% and deposits of non-residents by 7.3%.

As of 31 December 2021, the volume of deposits at domestic banks reached AZN 29.27 bn (22.6% more than at the end of 2020).
