January 28, Fineko/abc.az. The process of acquiring additional equity stakes of Petronas in the development of the Shah Deniz field, located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, has not finished yet.

ABC.AZ reports that this was stated by deputy head of the SOCAR Event Organization & Public Relations Department Ibrahim Ahmedov.

 “The process of acquiring additional shares of Petronas in the development of the Shah Deniz field is ongoing," he said.

The SOCAR representative added that Russia’s Lukoil is already an official partner in the exploration project of the shallow part of the Absheron Peninsula. So, last September, BP agreed to sell 25% of its stake in the project to Lukoil. Currently, the shares of participation in the project are as follows: SOCAR-50%, BP - 25%, and Lukoil - 25%.
