February 21, Fineko/abc.az. The former head of the Procurement & Supply Department of the Ministry of Defense, Melikmammad Gurbanov has been detained.

ABC.AZ informs that this information was confirmed by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

The Investigation Department of the Military Prosecutor's Office charged him under Article 179.4 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement, or theft of someone else's property with causing significant damage) and submitted to the court a petition for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to him.

Currently, Melikmammad Gurbanov is not in military service. He was retired in August 2019 due to age.
