Japan begins tests of first hydrogen-powered train

February 23, Fineko/abc.az. Japan's largest railway company East Japan Railway Co will start testing the country's first hydrogen-fueled train in March.

ABC.AZ reports that this train will be launched for commercial carriages in 2030.

The train cost 4 bn yens ($35 million) and can travel up to 140 km with maximum speed of 100 km per hour at one hydrogen gas station. The railway company plans to replace its diesel fleet with hydrogen trains, as well as export them.
