Labor Ministry unveils amount of increased pensions and benefits

February 28, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Labor & Social Protection has announced how much pensions, benefits and scholarships will increase.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry that the increase in pensions since the beginning of the year has covered 12% of the country's population.

The minimum pension increased by 20% - from 200 to 240 manats, which allowed an increase of pensions for 40,000 people.

Pensions were increased by indexing in accordance with the growth of the average monthly salary, financial assistance for this year was allocated to pensioners in the amount of 200 manats. In general, pensions grew by an average of 9%.

For this increase, which covered 1.1 million pensioners, an additional AZN 352 million will be spent from the State Budget for this year.

Since 1 January 2022 the social benefits and some pensions have been increased. Benefits for disability, age, loss of the head of the family, children with disabilities, etc. have been increased by an average of 25%, and lump-sum benefits by an average of 46%.

Some scholarships have been increased by an average of 32% and student scholarships by 20%.
