Azerbaijan’s PM has received delegates of U.S. House of Representatives

May 3, Fineko/abc.az. Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov has received today the delegation of the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress, led by Robert Goodlat.

During the meeting Mammadov called relationships between Azerbaijan and the U.S. "very good".

"Our countries have both very good ties and strong and close cooperation in a number of sensitive areas," he added.

The PM pointed out that the delegation’s visit to Azerbaijan is of great importance, and after Azerbaijan gained independence it attached special importance to expansion of links with the U.S. and the EU.

The sides also discussed the situation around the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Mammadov stressed that due to the unconstructive position of Armenia, the conflict has not yet been settled.

In turn, Robert Goodlat noted the high level of relationships between Azerbaijan and the U.S. and underlined the importance of continued cooperation.

He stressed that the U.S. highly appreciates cooperation with Azerbaijan.

The parties also exchanged views on expansion of trade and economic cooperation.
