March 17, Fineko/abc.az. The water level in the part of the Kura flowing through the Salyan district has increased.

ABC.AZ reports that residents of the district informed about this.

Local residents say that some time ago the water in the part of the Kura flowing through the district completely dried up: "This has created problems with water in the district. Since 16 March, the water level in the river has risen by 20-25 cm."

National Hydrometeorology Service’s deputy head Rafik Verdiyev said that the main cause of the increase in water levels in this part of the Kura is the Mingachevir water storage reservoir:

"The intense rains observed in the country in recent days have also led to an increase in the water level in the river. However, the cause of the increase in the water level in the part of the Kura flowing through the district is associated with an increase in the volume of water flowing from the reservoir to 95 cm per second."
