Russia sold eurobonds in rubles first time

April 6, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Finance of Russia, whose international reserves were frozen by the U.S. and the EU, announced that for the first time in the country's financial history, eurobond obligations are repaid by foreign bondholders in rubles.

ABC.AZ reports that the Ministry's statement emphasizes that due to the refusal of the Russian Ministry to execute a payment order for a eurobond in foreign currency to an intermediary bank (correspondent) abroad, the payment of eurobonds in the amount of $649.2 million was made in rubles.

The total amount of payments on eurobonds was announced in the amount of $649.2 million.
