19 bus carriers apply to Tariff Council

April 12, Fineko/abc.az. Information has spread on social networks that the bus fare will allegedly be increased up to 70 gapiks.

ABC.AZ reports that BNA press secretary Mais Agayev has denied this information.

He noted that the agency did not apply to the Tariff Council in this regard. "Regulation of public transport fares is not within the competence of the Baku Transport Agency. These issues are within the competence of the Tariff Council. BNA has not contacted the Tariff Council on the occasion. Private companies have contacted the relevant bodies on the matter."

Thus, the heads of 19 transport companies dissatisfied with low bus fare have sent an appeal to the Tariff Council, Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov and Baku mayor Eldar Azizov in connection with the revision of the current tariffs and the increase in state support for private carriers.

The Council noted that since the fare increase is not on the agenda, there are no discussions on this issue.
