April 13, Fineko/abc.az. The number of passengers carried by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) to Georgia reached 27,866 people for the 1st quarter of 2022, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia.

Airline's share in the Georgian aviation market made up 4%.

Compared with Q1 of 2019, the number of passengers grew by 8,601 people or by 45%. The share of the national air carrier of Azerbaijan in the aviation market of the neighboring country increased by 2%.

Because of COVID-19 pandemic, flights between Azerbaijan and Georgia have been suspended for a year since March 2020. AZAL Buta Airways subsidiary has resumed flights via the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route from 19 March 2021.
