May 8, Fineko/abc.az. At a special session the Armenian Parliament elected Armenian opposition’s leader Nikol Pashinyan to the post of Prime Minister.

Interfax reports that 59 MPs voted for Pashinyan's candidacy and 42 voted against. He needed at least 53 votes to be elected Prime Minister.

The vote in the Armenian Parliament for the PM’s candidacy was held for the second time. Last week the ruling Republican Party refused to support Pashinyan. This caused another wave of protests. As a result, a decision was taken on repeated voting.
