About 122,000 houses to be demolished in Baku

April 22, Fineko/abc.az. According to the Baku City Master Plan for 2020-40, about 122,000 residential buildings will be demolished in the capital.

ABC.AZ reports that the Master Plan prepared by the State Committee for Urban Planning & Architecture envisages such important changes as zoning of territories, new engineering and communication systems, and updating of transport infrastructure.

And in some districts, the demolition of many houses is envisaged to implement these changes.

Experts say that in accord with the new master plan, additional roads will be built to provide access to the city.

For the convenient coordinated movement of tourists in Alat settlement, the construction of an airport is stipulated.

The upcoming work will also affect prices on the real estate market in Baku.

"This will lead to a rise in the price of land and apartments in a range of districts of the city," experts say.
