May 13, Fineko/abc.az. "Turkey does not consider the possibility of Finland and Sweden joining NATO a positive development."

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Turkish media that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this, commenting on the possible accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO.

"The Scandinavian countries are like a guest house of a terrorist organization," the Turkish leader said.

He pointed out that representatives of the PKK, which is recognized as a terrorist organization in Turkey, "are even members of parliament in some countries".

"Sweden has become a home for the PKK and other terrorist groups," Turkish media quoted Erdogan as saying.

For a country to join NATO, the consent of all countries that are already members of this alliance is required.
