Russia to stop gas supplies to Finland

16:26 - 20.05.2022

May 20, Fineko/abc.az. The import of natural gas from Russia to Finland will be stopped on Saturday, May 21, ABC.AZ reports with reference to Finnish state gas company Gasum.

This happened after Finland refused to pay for imported fuel in rubles.

Gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria were previously interrupted for the same reason. Experts believe the volume of gas supplies conforms to 5% of Finland's energy needs, so its impact on the country's economy will be limited.

Unlike many European countries that use gas imported from Russia for heating, Finland uses it only at factories.
