Samir Sharifov: Gas prices in Azerbaijan are very low

May 25, Fineko/ The Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship has held meeting.

ABC.AZ reports that the Bill on the Execution of the State Budget for 2021 was submitted for discussion at the meeting.

Finance Minister Samir Sharifov, who participated in the discussions, noted that very cautious policy is being pursued in the tariff sphere.

He noted that we will achieve nothing by privatizing state-owned enterprises: "An attempt is being made to prevent tariffs from rising sharply. At the beginning of last year we liberalized many petroleum products. It was a very difficult step. But if we look at gas prices on a global scale today, we’ll see that our gas costs pennies," the minister said.
