July 2, Fineko/abc.az. “Since the beginning of Russia's offensive in Ukraine until today, Russian troops have occupied more than 3,000 Ukrainian settlements,” ABC.AZ reports, quoting President Vladimir Zelensky as saying this in an address to politicians and the people of Luxembourg.

"Russian troops have entered 3,620 settlements in Ukraine. 1,017 of them have already been released and another 2,603 ones are to be released. As of today, about 20% of our territory, almost 125,000 sq km, is under the control of the occupiers – this is significantly more than the area of all the Benelux countries combined," Zelensky emphasized.

He added that 12 million Ukrainians became internally displaced, more than 5 million, among whom mostly women and children, went abroad.
