2.93 bn barrels of oil carried by BTC as of 1 April

May 17, Fineko/abc.az. In Q1 of the year BTC Co spent $538 million on the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.

BP-Azerbaijan reports that operating expenses for Q1 amounted to $123 million and capital expenditures $415 million.

“Since the 1,768 km BTC pipeline became operational in June 2006 till the end of the first quarter of 2018, it carried a total of about 2.93 billion barrels (around 391 million tonnes) of crude oil loaded on 3,839 tankers and sent to world markets. In Q1 of 2018 BTC exported around 63 million barrels (about 8.3 million tonnes) of crude oil loaded on 81 tankers at Ceyhan,” it was reported.

The BTC Co shareholders are: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25%); Chevron (8.90%); Statoil (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); Eni (5%); Total (5%), ITOCHU (3.40%); INPEX (2.50%), ExxonMobil (2.50%) and ONGC (BTC) Limited (2.36%).
