June 20, Fineko/abc.az. The number of foreign tourists in May is slightly behind the level that preceded the pandemic.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Turkey that the number of foreign visitors arriving in Turkey in May 2022 increased by 308.48% against May 2021.

Compared with 2021, when the lockdown occurred, the number of tourists increased more than by 300%, but decreased by 4.9% versus the same month of 2019.

The quantity of foreigners who arrived in Turkey for Jan-May 2022 grew by 207.1% compared May 2021.

In the list of countries from which there were relatively more arrivals in May 2022, Germany took the 1st place with 12.94% and 494,929 people, England – 2nd with 10.33% and 395,056 people, and the Russian Federation - 3rd with 9.48% and 362,676 people.
