May 21, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani insurance companies collected premiums for AZN 301.4 million and paid compensations for AZN 78.5 million for Jan-Apr.

The Financial Markets Supervision Chamber reports that 21 insurance companies are operating in the country.

"Premiums on voluntary insurance amounted to AZN 220.9 million and compensation payments AZN 56.9 million, while premiums on compulsory insurance made up AZN 80.5 million compensations AZN 21.6 million," the Chamber said.

73.3% of premiums accounted for voluntary of insurance and 26.7% for compulsory insurance, while 72.5% for compensations on voluntary and 26.5% of compulsory insurance.
