June 28, Fineko/abc.az. The Georgian government has decided to introduce an annual ban on the export of locally produced wheat and barley from 4 July in order to avoid a shortage of these agricultural products within the country.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection & Agriculture of Georgia informs that in order to ensure food security, it is important that locally produced wheat and barley are sold only on the domestic market.

“Taking into account all of the above, the government decided from 4 July this year until 4 July 2023 to ban the export of wheat and barley produced in Georgia,” the Ministry says.
