Azerbaijani doctors can be drawn for work in Turkey

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Health minister Ogtay Shiraliyev of Azerbaijan received the Turkish delegation led by adviser to health minister Orkhan Gumrukjuoglu.

During the meeting Shiraliyev said that in 1994 Azerbaijan and Turkey signed an agreement according to which a great deal of Azerbaijani doctor were sent to Turkey for refresher training courses.

Currently they conduct very difficult surgical operations in Azerbaijan. In addition, in compliance with bilateral agreements or patients pass treatment in Turkey,” the Azeri minister added.

Mr.Gumrukjuoglu, in his turn, said that the National Assembly (parliament) of Turkey should consider the issue of staff shortage in the country and make a relevant decision.

“I hope that following the decision Azerbaijani specialists will be drawn for work in Turkey as they have not language problems,” Mr. Gumrukjuoglu said.

Besides, the Turkish representatives voiced readiness to give support to Family Doctor Project in Azerbaijan.
