Till the end of the year Azerbaijan to introduce 3G service
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan Republic Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies is planning to distribute the third generation services, 3G frequencies by the end of 2009.
Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov said all of the three GSM operators already applied to the Ministry for a special license on rendering 3G services.
“It is planned to distribute frequencies between these operators and start introducing the services till end-2009.” Minister added.
In 90s a part of this frequency was allocated for one company for other services for more objective usage of 3G. At present the country is numbering three GSM operators -Azercell, Bakcell and Azerfon (Nar Mobile).
