Baku, Fineko/abc.az. This July manufacture of chemical products decreased again in Azerbaijan.

The State Statistics Committee has informed that for Jan-July 2009 country’s manufacture of chemical products dropped by 52.1%  (compared to the 2008 same term), although in January slump was 57.5%, following March 79.7%, April 78.4%, May 59.8% and June – 51%.

Against this background production of rubber and plastics decreased by 1.2% in April versus rise of 54.6% in March and rise of 59.8% in January, dropped by 19.3%  in July versus decline of 13.3% in June and of 9.3% in May.

“For Jan-July 2009 chemical production totaled AZN 50.2 million (including AZN 6.9 million in July versus 12.6 million in June, AZN 12.5 million in May, AZN 1.7 million in April and AZN 2.7 million in March) versus AZN 204.1 million for 2008, and manufacture of rubber and plastics AZN 26.7 million (including AZN 22.4 million in July against 4.7 million in June, AZN 4.8 in May, AZN 3.9 million in April) versus AZN 61.4 million for 2008,” it was reported.

For Jan-July of the year production of liquid caustic soda (its output was not made in January and February) totaled 4,776,1oo tons (-68.7% against the 2008 same term).

Manufacture of propylene made 8,8100 tons (-58%), polyethylene 16,300 tons (-56.9%), isopropylene alcohol 5,900 tons (-52%), varnish-and-paint products 1,000 tons (-63%). Chloric acid was not produced for Jan-July at all.

Production of plastic bags, pipes and other items from hard polyethylene totaled 1,350,800 tons (-36.7%), plastic window and door frames 277.8 (-46%), artificial coverings from cellulose or protein 157.4 tons (-26.9%).

As of 1st August 2009, cost of ready chemical products at enterprises’ warehouses reduced by AZN 300,000 in July and reached AZN 23.9 million or 11.6% of overall balance of ready industrial products.
