Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Communications & Information Technologies of Azerbaijan builds quite optimistic forecasts on growth of the sector of information & communication technologies compared to other countries.

At today’s media conference communication minister Ali Abbasov has said that before the end of the year they expect 10% growth in domestic ICT sector, although growth of 3.4% is expected around the world.

“Cellular communication sector especially inspires as growth there made up 29-30%. As for TV and radio broadcasting, we intend to launch digital television broadcasting in 2012 not expecting start of 2015,” the minister said.

Under the conditions of the International Telecommunications Union, switching to   digital television should be carried out by 2015.

“In the middle of 2010 the Azerbaijani postal operator (Azerpoct) will render fully financial services. Besides, by that time practical use of e-signature will be launched as well,” he said.
