This March and April ARPA to organize training course within GARP program second stage

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The Association of Risk Professionals of Azerbaijan (ARPA) is preparing to continue training courses launched in 2009 within the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

ARPA president Rufat Makhmud says that that the Association Board of Trustees has endorsed plans on courses within GARP second certification program in March and April of 2010.

“In addition, it was made a decision to repeat training course “Bases of Bank Risks & Regulation” for banks’ risk management specialists in the second half of the year,” he said.

From 15 July to 25 September GARP and ARPA with support of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan conducted courses designed for domestic banks’ risk management specialists.

GARP organized such a course on the CIS area for the first time. Besides, the course was delivered first time not in English, but in the state language.

ARPA was established in May 2009. The major direction of Organization’s activity is improvement of the level of knowledge of financial institutions and companies on risk management.

The Association has already launched co-operation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), CBA and GARP.

GARP certification (licensing) of risk managers is planned to be conducted in the future as well.
