Baku, Fineko/abc.az. In accordance with primary data of the Azerbaijani State Social Protection Fund (ASSPF), quantity of those who get labor pensions in the country has increased by 27,000 people since the beginning of 2009.

ASSPF chairman Salim Muslimov said that summarizing the results of 2009, the number of labor pensioners in the country has reached 1.302 million.

“Out of them 59% receives old age pensions, 35% - invalidity pensions, 6% - over loss of head of family,” S. Muslimov said.

According to him, in 2009 monthly average pension was retained at the level of monthly average salary.

“Following the results of the year, monthly average sum of pension totaled AZN 100.4,” S. Muslimov said.

To remind, the right for labor pension in Azerbaijan is given to women at the age of 57 years and men aged 62 years in case of five-year work period.

In compliance with draft law on amendments to the Law on Labour Pension, from  January 1 2010 to January 1 2012 pension age for men will be increased by six months every year until it reaches 63 years old, while pension age for women will be raised from January 1 2010 to January 1  2016 before it reaches 60 years old.
