Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The issue on accumulation of revenue from the country’s gold mining in the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) is being resolved in Azerbaijan.

The SOFAZ Executive Director Shakhmar Movsumov said under charter of SOFAZ, earnings from gold do not refer to SOFAZ.

“Presently, the issue on inclusion of revenue from gold mining in the fund’s assets is under discussion and the decision on this issue will be made in the nearest future,” S. Movsumov said.

For the time being, revenue from oil production by foreign  contractors make the basis of the fund’s assets. Since 2008, the fund started receiving analogous earnings from gas production.
