Azerbaijani private sector provides only 70% of employment
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Role of private sector of Azerbaijan economics is still inadequate to its share in formation of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.
The Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Shakhin Mustafayev said that private sector provides 70% of employment, forming more than 85% of GDP of the country.
“Role of the private sector differs on the sectors. The private sector forms 91% of GDP in industry, 99.8% in agriculture, 78% in transport, and only 67% in construction sector,” S. Mustafayev said.
At the moment of the start of privatization of the state property in 1996, the private sector share in the country’s GDP did not exceed 10%.
