In 2009 Azerbaijan exports 27.8 million tons of crude oil in amount of $11.9 billion

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. In 2009, the share of crude in country’s overall export totaled 81.57% with decline by 72.86% against 2008.

The State Customs Committee (SCC) informs that over 2009  the country exported 27.829  million tons of crude oil in the amount of $11.989 million , including 2.35 million tons of oil in the amount of  $1.289 bn in December,  2.66 million tons for $1.398 bn in November, 2.597 million tons for $1.32 bn in October, 2.26 million tons for $1.14 bn in September, 245,515 tons for $1.15 bn in August, 2.125 million tons for $1.04 bn in June, 1.786 million tons for $671.5 million in May, 2.515 million tons for $885.47 million in April and 2.738 million for $875.345 million in March.

For the reported period the SOCAR Department of Marketing & Economic Operations exported the whole volume of crude oil, while Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) did not carry out any export.

Last year AIOC did not export in December (as well as in November) versus export of 6.257 million tons in October and SOCAR exported 1.594 million tons against 1.307 million tons.

By 1st January 2010 41.29 million tons of oil were carried (including 3.137 million tons in December) via pipelines (data of controlling and measuring appliances) and 1.399 million tons of oil by rail.

“2.48 million tons out of overall transportation were transported via Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline, 34.57 million tons via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipe, and 4.235 million tons via Baku-Supsa pipe,” the Committee said.

In December, 139,748 tons of oil were transported via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline (versus 239,235 tons in November, 247,313 tons in October, 139,764 in September, 239,813 in August, 247,835 tons in July, 170,843 in June, 224,612 in May, 224,473 tons in April, 224,253 tons in March, 219,145 tons in February and 167,444 tons in January 2009), 2,619,158 tons via BTC (versus 2.769 million tons, 3.068 million tons, 3.005 million tons, 3.088 million tons, 3.178 million tons, 3.196 million tons, 3.155 million tons, 2.77 million tons, 2.9 million tons, 2.45 million tons and 2.34 million tons respectively), 378,405 tons via Baku-Supsa (versus 368,935 tons, 363,519 tons, 363,320 tons, 215,899 tons, 314,950 tons, 373,701 tons, 373,036 tons, 378,304 tons, 382,932 tons, 339,569 tons and 383,033 tons respectively).

In December, railway carriages totaled 115,131 tons versus 164,808 tons in November, 151,247 tons in October, 153,194 tons in  September, 110,521 tons in August, 132,797 tons in July, 10,644 tons in June, 169,746 tons in May, 210,748.6 in April, 64,489.5 tons in March, 81,331 tons in February and 45,773 tons in January.

For 2008 average export price of Azeri oil made $565,670 per ton and in December 2008 the price dropped to $373,890 per ton.

In December, 2009,  oil was exported at the average price of $547,660 per ton and over last year  – $430,830 per ton.

Azerbaijan’s overall export during 2009 totaled $14.698 bn.
