In January Baku Stock Exchange’s turnover drops by 87%
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of transactions of the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) for January 2010 exceeded $175.185 million (at the rate of 1 February (AZN 0.8035 to the US dollar) and totaled 4.2% of the 2009 turnover. BSE informs that in January overall turnover made on all instruments AZN 140.761 million that is by 87.05% less versus the index of January 2009. Over all 2009 turnover made AZN 3.323 bn and the largest volume of turnover in 2009 was registered in January (AZN 1.086 bn). In January, 2010, 85.8% of transactions fell on public securities. In 2008, the BSE overall turnover on all instruments reached AZN 9.519 bn ($11.88 bn) that exceeds the 2007 index by 173.39%. For comparison: BSE turnover for 2007 totaled AZN 5.48 bn ($6.487 bn) that is by 394.94% more versus the 2006 figures.
