Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Representatives of the Norwegian Cartography Agency paid a visit to Baku in connection with implementation of initial mission for the project “Improvement of Azerbaijan system of addresses”.

The Azerbaijan State Commitee for Property Affairs of (ASCPA) informed that visit covered  in general of implementation the project, communications rules, discussion of distribution of responsibility during implementation of the project and other executive issues, as well as professional consultation for the project.

“Future working program of the project, as well as working plan and time were under discussion at the meeting,” it was informed.

The Norwegian government provided 3 million of Norwegian krones as grant for the project on improvement of system of addresses in Azerbaijan. The project has been started since December 1, 2009, and it is expected to be finished on June 30, 2011.

Provided funds were directed only for technical consultation on the basis of primary variant of presented grant agreement. As a result of last discussions, carried out  with representatives of the Norwegian Cartography Agency, agreements on creation of technical specifications and information system were reached.

Work is planned to be carried out by means of two stages within the framework of the grant.

Complete technical specifications on creation of the register of addresses will be prepared within the framework of the first stage. Creation of information system and data on requirements on the technical equipment will be reflected as well. The stage will cover the period from February to June, 2010.

Preparation and application of information system is planned on the basis of technical specifications and tender documents at the second stage. This stage is intended for the period from July 2010 to June, 2011.

Since 2007, the Norwegian Cartography Agency (Statens Cartverk) implements the project “Improvement of Azerbaijani address system” in Azerbaijan. The project aims at assisting to create address register in Azerbaijan and conducting in compliance with international requirements.
