Azerbaijan Ministry of Education ready to pay ICT use school contest holding in 2010

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. A conference dedicated to introduction of information technologies in education sector has been held in Baku today. Its organizers were the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan and Microsoft Azerbaijan. The winners of the Innovative Teacher Contest were announced at the event.

Addressing to the conference education minister Misir Mardanov pointed out that in collaboration with Microsoft they realized a great deal of projects in country’s education system.

“Today within the framework of one of the joint projects there were defined the winners of Innovative Teacher Contest, and a teacher to represent Azerbaijan at the European Forum of Innovative Teachers in Germany this March,” Mardanov said.

The conference also covered the system of motivation of teachers for use of information technologies in education. The education minister made a concrete proposal concerning this system.

“I want to offer to announce 2010 the year of more active application of information technologies in the field of education. For example, a relevant contest among schools can be announced. We, as the Ministry, can finance and give all-kinds support to holding of such a contest,” Mardanov emphasized.
